Ma: what do you think of first when you think of things that you
love about Rosendale?
My: It’s a tight-knit community, very inclusive, very, ever changing. We’ve been here 20 years, and we’ve seen lots of changes.
Ma: And if you wanted to show a friend Rosendale, what would you show them around town, what would your highlights include?
My: The trestle, the trails, the rail trails, we love to bike it, hike it, shopping bird trail, the mountain trail. The cute little shops, the restaurants, we love all the restaurants.
We have our faves, lots of things to explore in this town.
Ma: And if you had anything that you’d want to change, what would that be? Ideas that you might have, that you might like to see.
My: I like the way it is. Changes, maybe some more businesses, some banks would be nice.
A pharmacy would be nice, you know. So we don’t have to trek all the way north or south here. I mean, I like it. It’s not too much. It’s enough for us.
Ma: And did you raise your kids here mostly?
My: Yeah.
Ma: And how was that? Was that a good experience?
My: Yeah. We have our pool, we have our park. It’s not overcrowded ever. And everybody knows everybody. It’s always been pleasant. Everybody’s so nice and welcoming. Everybody knows everybody.
Ma: It’s funny that Marble Town does have a bank and a pharmacy.
Because I don’t think they’re bigger than those in jail now that you mention it.
My: No, I don’t think so. We had a bank. Bank of America. Where the bike shop is.That shut down a long time ago, 15 years ago. The pharmacy was here in this plaza. And that went.
